Terms of Service
Effective September 13, 2026
These terms apply to anyone who calls a phone number answered by Bregstar, receives a text message from Bregstar, or uses the bregstar.com website. Businesses that subscribe to Bregstar are covered by a separate service agreement.
What Bregstar is
Bregstar is an automated phone assistant operated on behalf of local service businesses. It answers calls, books and changes appointments, takes messages, and transfers calls to a person. It identifies itself as an AI at the start of every call. It is not a person and does not claim to be one.
Appointments
An appointment booked through Bregstar is an appointment with the business you called, not with Bregstar. The business confirms the exact price of work on site, and may need to adjust a time; if so, it will contact you at the number you provided. Bregstar is not responsible for the work performed by the business.
Emergencies
If you smell gas or there is immediate danger, leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility first. Bregstar can transfer you to on-call staff, but it is not an emergency service.
Text-message terms
By confirming your phone number during a call, you agree to receive appointment notifications by text from Bregstar on behalf of the business you called.
Messages: one text when an appointment is booked, moved, or cancelled. Nothing promotional.
Frequency: one message per appointment action.
Cost: Bregstar does not charge for texts. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Opt out: reply STOP at any time. You'll get one final message confirming you've been unsubscribed, and nothing more. Opting out of texts does not cancel your appointment.
Help: reply HELP or call (312) 624‑6997.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most US carriers.
Recording
Calls may be recorded and transcribed, and the assistant says so at the start of each call. Continuing the call is your consent to recording. See the privacy policy for how recordings are kept and deleted.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to harass, to make false emergency reports, or to attempt to extract information about other callers. Abusive calls may be ended and reported.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The service is provided as is. Speech recognition is not perfect; always check the confirmation text and contact the business if a detail is wrong. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bregstar is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and its total liability to you is limited to one hundred dollars.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.
